Penne Chicken and Mushroom Arrabbiata

I love cooking and I love pasta so much. I usually cook pasta every other weekend just to satisfy my cravings.

Penne Arrabbiata is one of my favourite dishes I usually order in a restaurant and I thought before that doing it at home is difficult. But when I did it myself, it only requires such few ingredients!

I am not a chef or a great cook but just someone who loves cooking as a hobby and I want to share the recipes I like doing.

Ingredients

1 400g bottle arrabbiata sauce (Barilla or Maggi)
1 400g pack penne pasta (can be changed to other types of pasta you prefer)
300g chicken breast, 1-inch cubes
1 400g can sliced mushrooms
4 tsp olive oil
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 small size onion, finely chopped
1 medium to large size tomato, diced
Chilli flakes, optional
Salt and pepper to taste

Procedures

1. Cook the penne pasta as per package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2. In a medium-size skillet, add olive oil and sear chicken until it colours or golden brown. Set aside.

3. On the same skillet over medium heat, saute garlic, onion and tomato. Add mushrooms and chicken. Add the arrabbiata sauce and let it simmer for around 2 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add chilli flakes for additional spice.

4. You can mix the penne pasta onto the sauce or serve it separately. Makes 4-6 servings.
