Spark, Magic and Love…

Take me to your heart,
Show me where to start
Let me play the part of your first love..

All the stars are right,
Every wish is ours tonight, my love..

Pity those who wait,
Trusting love to fate
Finding out too late that they’ve lost it..

Never letting go,
They will never know the ways of love..

Got to believe in magic
Tell me how two people find each other
In a world that’s full of strangers..

You’ve got to believe in magic
Something stronger than the moon above
‘Cause it’s magic when two people fall in love..

I may never know,
Why I need you so
All I need to know is this feeling..

Handle it with care,
We were born to share this dream my love..

I guess everyone knows that this is a song by David Pomeranz titled Got To Believe.. Yes, it has been running through my mind for days now.. Maybe the local show of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla having the same title adds up to the retention of the song on my mind..

Is it really like magic? Having two people, total strangers, meet and fall in love? Is it really destiny that made them finally bumped to each other and fall to each other’s arms?

I have written before about films having this kind of themes — destiny, kismet, fate, serendipity — whatever you call it.. I am still amazed whenever I see those films and wonder if the same applies to me.. That someday, out from nowhere, I’ll meet that person whom I am destined with..

I am also curious if people really believe in “love at first sight” or if people believe that love develops and blooms as you get to know the other person more..

I asked two of my good friends (a guy and a lady), which they do believe in — “love at first sight” or “love that developed and bloomed”.. One is currently single and the other is engaged.. And it kinda amazed me of their answers and opinion on this..

Hazel, Engaged“I don’t believe in love at first sight.. It still boils down to personality.. Beauty fades but a good personality remains until the end.. Love at first sight is just superficial..”

Dino, Single — “It’s not really love at first sight but more of an attraction, an interest.. Of course, if you meet someone, there are times that it’ll spark an interest for you to know the person more.. So, you’ll try to get close to the person, befriend her and see if you two could be a match.. For me, as I understand with love that developed and bloomed, you started out as being friends and then eventually feelings developed into more than friends..”

Two different opinions yet both of them have a point.. Maybe “love at first sight” is too shallow and can’t be called love but merely an attraction at first.. A spark.. Then from there is where the magic starts..

But then again.. We could still consider it magical since in this world of 7.1 B people, two souls found their match whom they’ll be able to spend forever.. Hehehe.. Soul mates..

So, it will start with spark, an interest to this person which would push you to get to know them more.. Then, if both have similarities, it becomes magical that they started to compliment each other.. Not knowing that, the spark became magical then blossomed to becoming love.. 🙂

A Weekend Of Romantic Movies..

“When you know that you know, who you love, you can’t deny it.. You go back, you give up, or pretend you don’t buy it..” (When You Know by Shawn Colvin)

I have watched Serendipity more than a dozen times but it still makes my heart burst with emotions and my eyes teary.. It is just simply so endearing..

Is it true that we do have this certain person we are destined to be with? A soul mate per sé? Continue reading A Weekend Of Romantic Movies..

A Nice Stay at Zpad Residences Tacloban..

Up to the last week, I was still not sure if I could make it to Tacloban.. My dad was telling me not to go since I’d be alone and he thought I can’t manage on my own.. Whuaaattt!? I am now 30 years old and I guess I am old enough to travel on my own.. Well, I did..

On September 14th, we landed at Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport at 10:25AM, the exact time indicated in the ticket as arrival, though we were delayed 15 minutes on our departure in Manila.. I love TigerAir Philippines for the smooth ride and landing.. Continue reading A Nice Stay at Zpad Residences Tacloban..

Beer + Karaoke = Best Way To Unwind

There are days that you just wanted to go out and eat somewhere.. For some, drinking and singing make it more unforgettable.. Definitely, for Deejei, yes, he loves to sing karaoke while drinking beer..

Last Friday, Deej just suddenly asked if anyone would like to join him to kill time at RJ’s.. He had to wait until around 9AM to pass his son Aedn’s baby pics to be included at the hospital’s 2014 calendar.. I, at the same time, was going to a government agency to process something so I decided to come.. Red also said he would be coming after finishing some work.. And Dino, for some unknown reasons (he usually runs immediately towards the door once the clock hits 6AM), also joined us..

We immediately left the office and rode our way to RJ’s Bulalohan near Mandaluyong City Hall.. First thing Deej did was to look for the song book and ordered beer — Colt45 for him and Dino had Red Horse.. They didn’t want to order a bucket since they said they didn’t want to feel the pressure of finishing the bottles lined up before them.. Hahaha!! What the!!??

Anyway, I just ordered Tapsilog because I was too hungry and I don’t really drink.. Seldom that I would drink, I don’t know but only if I feel like drinking then, I’d empty a bottle.. That time wasn’t..

First song entered was from Dino — Cupid by 112.. Not so familiar with the RnB song but heard it somewhere before.. And since Deej wasn’t familiar of it too, Dino had no choice but to sing it himself.. It was followed by I’ll be of Edwin McCain and some more.. I also entered some of my fave songs and sang a few as well.. Even had a duet singing A Whole New World!! Aarrrgghhh..

Well, a few more songs and some more bottles for them and we really did enjoy it.. Red texted me he could no longer join us but even just the three of us, it was fun.. I already knew Deej when he gets tipsy but I saw a little of Dino’s other side as well.. Guys really look funny and cute when they get tipsy (and I mean tipsy, not drunk!).. They started talking, laughing or just say anything or do some funny antics.. Haha! I stopped them when I thought they had enough already — three bottles for Deej and four for Dino.. I didn’t want to drag them and bring them home because they couldn’t manage to do it on their own.. Hehehe..

But hey, I did enjoy it seeing the two of them bond for the first time.. Hope I could see it again in the future.. Oh, by the way, here are some of their pictures:

Saint Padre Pio of Pietrelcina (1887-1968)

Monday 23 September 2013

Padre Pio was born in the small village of Pietrelcina in southern Italy, and joined the Capuchin friars at the age of 16. He became a priest seven years later, and spent fifty years at the monastery of San Giovanni Rotondo, where he was very much sought after as a spiritual advisor, confessor, and intercessor. Many miracles were popularly ascribed to him during his lifetime. He died a few days after the fiftieth anniversary of his receiving the stigmata, and over 100,000 people attended his funeral.

Other saints: Saint Adomnan of Iona (627/8 – 704)

(His name is written as Adamnan or Adomnan and anglicised as Eunan). He was educated by the Columban monks of his native place, subsequently becoming a novice at Iona in 650. In 679 he succeeded to the abbacy of Iona, which position he held up to his death. He was also president-general of all the Columban houses in Ireland. During his rule he paid three lengthy visits to Ireland, one of which is memorable for his success in introducing the Roman dating and celebration of Easter. On his third visit (697) he assisted at the Synod of Tara, when the Cain Adamnain, or Canon of Adamnan (the “Law of Innocents”) was adopted, which freed women and children from the evils inseparable from war, forbidding them to be killed or made captive in times of strife. He is famous for his Life of St. Columba, written some time after 688, which has been praised as the best and most complete biography written in Europe for many centuries.
